Janell, here is some info...
In Response To: Casino Tokens ()

First off, allow me to express condolences for the passing of your Grandfather.

The picture you are showing is of several different $1 slot machine tokens. While you also used the word "chips", these are definately tokens and slot machine tokens at that.

With respect to the Las Vegas tokens (Circus Circus) they are heavily used (worn), while several of the Native American gaming tokens are rather nice, but none are un-used or un-circulated. In the case of the highly worn tokens, you could only hope to sell them for a $1 (each) but more than likely just a few dollars for 3, 4 or 5 of them.

The less used token are likely to get at least $1 each and perhaps several dollars each because they are in far better condition. Unfortunately, they are from casinos with a much lower collector interest than the Las Vegas tokens.

Generally speaking, $1 slot machine tokens seem to last forever and are not good at nearly every casino in the US, and would be unlawfull to use elsewhere by local gaming regulations if a casino still had machines that used tokens.

Are there more tokens than what are shown, and if so, are they all slot machine tokens? If there are plastic-like "chips" wth casino names on them, then there is a better likelyhood that you have something of greater value.

I hope this helps.

Jim
