Re: How does everyone scan their items

In a perfect world, I scan as many chips as I can fit comfortably (approx 24) with a bit of space between them on my Epson Perfection V300. After the "sheet" is scanned, I import into Adobe Photoshop CS4 where I then [circular] crop each chip individually tightly around just the edge of the chip. I then broaden the canvas, rotate the chip to taste - then, manually add simulated shadowing (to show depth). After that, I trim any remaining transparent pixels, resize as required (300 x 300) and "save for web" as jpg. When I am anxious to get certain chips scanned, I will sometimes scan them individually. I haven't done much yet as far as categorizing, cataloging or displaying but I plan to in the near future. Scanning is a bit tedious but definitely worth spending the few extra minutes to capture the image properly.

Have fun!! grin

Picasa 3 also makes resizing very easy for posting
