I am going to jump ahead of your question. After I scan my items I put them in a data base. I use the one offered by Terry Shaffer. It has many options including a search feature and a print book form option. Then you can do this with it.
It is loaded on my work computer and I can see any chip I have in a moments notice. It is very user friendly and you can set up any type of collection you like.
I use Photoshop, Scan, rotate, crop, save at 300.
