Yes I agree Gene, as far as the definition of Illegals as we Illegal collectors know of it. To me this is a period in history and not the modern era. Today many many Illegal games still exist and I mean anything from big time games to small games. Some are called social clubs, dinner clubs or what not but the pots are raked and some have many poker tables. I won't go into any detail. Most of these games rake lower than casino poker rooms do and are home town games.
To me the "era" of the Illegal chip is from 18xx to maybe 1970 give or take. I Love the history and love when a new find comes around. I get pissed when I just missed the opputunity to get a set of MC lg crown for $5.00 a couple days ago. Such a reasonable price too.

But as my teacher told me there will be others around the corner.

So I guess the in betwixt category will be called "home games" although I like the acronym IDWFI (ID waiting further investigation).
