I had a similar problem with my netbook computer. I put a 4gb card into the built in slot but it would not recognize it. I checked google and found similar cases where it said that if the card was larger than 2gb it would not read it. SO, I put the card into a card reader then plugged it into the USB port and it read the card that way.
