the true nature of the BB, which I believed to be operated
by ICG.

I wouldn't begin to tell you that you should do otherwise;
it's your board and you can set the standards for posts.
Personally, I attempt to post as you have suggested no
matter where I am posting.

I see that Gene has apologized for the use of the word
stooges -- and to the extent that my agreement with his post
was offensive to you, I do also. I must say, however, that
I took the word "stooges" not as an insult, but as
desriptive of their role in joining our club; i.e., as
defined in Webster as either:

"a puppet" (one whose acts are controlled by an outside
force or influence)

or:

"a stool pigeon" (a person acting as a decoy or informer;
especially: a spy sent into a group to report (as to the police) on its
activities)

Once I learned these two people were ICG employees, I
personally took their joining the club as arising not from
personal interest, but as being "controlled by" ICG and for
the purpose of serving as "informers", if you will, on
behalf of ICG.

Both of these, of course, are perfectly legitimate uses of
the word which are neither "name calling" nor boorish.

Assuming that you choose to remove my post, will you object
to my reposting the list without reference to the earlier
posts?
