TV stations don't show it much and it really won't get really popular without TV exposure. And it doesn't get televised much because, unlike football, baseball, hockey, basketball, etc..., there is not a "natural" break (innings, change of possessions, etc...) where commercials can run without adversely affecting the flow of the game. Soccer is one of the sports with the greatest participation of young kids throughout the US...but when it gets to the high school, college & pro levels, there just isn't the exposure because the TV networks haven't found a way to make money at it.

As an example -- are you aware that the MLS championship game is being played today? And what will you be watching today -- football or futbol?
