... was what I think was my only bad play of the tournament and that was all Andy's fault, too! <g>
I was at the same original table with Susie, but didn't know who she was until Andy told me at the break that I was playing against a celebrity. Shortly after, a hand came up where she was the big blind and I called with A-K diamonds. A few of other players stayed for the flop, which gave me a four flush. Everyone checked and 4th street was a rag for me but gave her two small pairs. She pushed in her stack ($775) and I should have folded because the pot odds were not favorable for my draw.
And I WOULD have folded against any other player, but because Andy had told me she was a star, my judgement was clouded and I thought, what the hell, it's worth the call to see if I can't win the bounty for knocking her out of the game. The river card was another rag, so I had Ace high. She turned over her cards and started to get up, thinking she was beaten. When I told her that her two small pairs were good, she looked at me like I had three heads! <g>
She saved me the embarrassment of telling me just how bad the play was (probably because she won, from the sounds of things!). A short while later she went out anyway, so on this one night, in this one tournament, I did better. Not that I was a better player, mind you, cause I did the old "all in and win the hand" trick four times after we got to the final 20!
