the MOGH's BoD would probably receive a better response on the club's BB. I do know, however, that President Smith has requested an update / Quarterly Report from the MOGH (as well as from the Membership Officer) and will post those reports upon receipt. Your questions are addressed to "members" -- I will try to respond to some of your questions, though, with what limited knowledge I have of the status:
1. Do the members think a Museum in a building owned, or rented by the club in Las Vegas will ever happen? The effort of those involved with the MOGH has been towards finding a benefactor that would donate space for the MOGH. The MOGH is also looking into to the availability of grants that would apply. These efforts continue.
2. Do the members think the club could afford the expenses, and have enough vol. to staff 40 hrs a week? Depending upon where this physical MOGH would be located, that would dictate costs associated with staff (hopefully club volunteers) and hours of operation. And once again, the availability & access to specific grant money and/or a benefactor would also have an impact on this.
3. Do the members think in this bad economy and lack of chipping interest, we could make a adequate income on fees and sales? This answer would depend upon a myriad of factors that really can't be determined until a physical "home" is found or discussed.
4. "...many have donated a lot of time and effort and $ to make this happen" You are correct & we thank ALL of those that have donated their time, money & efforts towards making the MOGH a reality. What is the status today in this economy? As I noted above, an updated status report should be posted on the club board when it is received by President Smith.
5. I assume that our elected board members have a "open door policy for the members to ask questions".? Maybe I should post on the other board Also as noted above, these club-related issues are always best addressed on the club board. The BoD maintains an "open door policy" to all members & we welcome questions, suggestions & inquiries such as this, Fred.
