I would go for the signed set any day...Autographs have a value of their own and when applied to something that was produced by/for the signer, the item has a greater possibility of increasing in value. You just have to be very careful not to overpay for such items as it is a fickled domain. Something that is going at a high price one day could be almost worhtless the next...kind of like some chips I bought not too long ago!
