I cannot speak for Allan, Ernie or Michael, but to suggest an update when chips are issued is not rational. The cost would be prohibitive. I would like to see a periodic supplement for which I would pay a good sum--for TGT since it is not reprinted yearly and it would be great to have a biannual TCR supplement as well. But I suspect that the Doctor, Lawyer et al, have to do income producing things other than to churn out supplements. In the law book field we get weekly or monthly supplement services but that is provided by publishing houses who have paid staff to do the research, editing and publishing.
