The point, based on my discussion with my son, is that the numbering systems currently in use (e.g., the Chip Racks N####) are probably not innovative enough to qualify for copyright protection. On the other hand, a more complex system devised by the club, particularly one in which the numbers are somehow descriptive of the chips, would qualify for copyright protection and the club could prevent slabbers from using them, even while granting permission to the chip guide authors to use them.
I know this idea will not find ready acceptance, but may be a very useful tool in fighting the slabbers. ----- jim o\-S
