Funny, i see it different. I have no skin in the game since i am not playing but the player did register. The players at the table had the advantage of free money throughout the tournament, some ostensibly going to the other players at that table propelling them to the final table with the free blinds each round.

In a live tournament (most of the ones i played) they would be paid if they registered (and paid the fee) even if they didnt play a hand. Others would have gotten picked up after the first hour, 2 , 4 (whatever the rule is).

i think though for a private tournament they should be removed from the running this week. Not penalized but not rewarded.
