Ironically an area far from the Atlantic coast may get the greatest damage from hurricane Irene. Massive flooding has begun in the State of Vermont and the surrounding area after heavy rains from what was left of Irene.
I am sure glad we dodged a bullet here in Delaware but the poor folks in Vermont may never forget Irene even though she was near the end of her life span as she crossed the border into Canada.
That's the thing about these storms - you never know what or where the greatest impact will be.
I thought the TV networks over "hyped" Irene but when the final toll is in - this may be remembered as one of the all time worst tropical storms to hit the East coast and the New England area.
