I have a few Carib chips with brown inserts and lots with red. Without a side-by-side comparison, it's really hard to tell. It seems hard to believe that a casino would intentionally order roulette chips with insert colors that similar. More likely that different manufacturers had different understandings of what is meant by "red" or "brown".

If they look like different colors in a live comparison, I agree they should have different catalog numbers.
