Ed, I don't think you can go wrong picking a Mac.
I've been using them for years and have never looked back.
Well made, long lasting, not nearly the problems caused by viruses that PCs deal with.
Worth the added cost in my humble opinion.
Bought my first Mac some 20 years ago, have had 6 or 8 since and none have ever crashed,
nor any significant problems of any kind.
My experience, anyway.
And, the operating system is very user-friendly.
