I am not in the business of selling chips but I do sell a lot of them. I sell them so I can afford the hobby and justify the cost of buying an expensive chip once in a while. I love the chips and I make every effort to insure that they arrive uneventful to the new owner. It does not matter to me if the chip cost $1.50 or $150 I use the same care: New OOO KRAFT eco>lite bubble mailer Made in USA , Paypal shipping label with delivery confirmation, covered with shipping tape, and marked in four places with a BIG RED FRAGILE. When the buyer gets his chip he knows that it was packed properly for the trip but even more than that... every postal employee that handles the package knows that I care about the contents and it's delivery. I would not want a USPS employee to pick my package out of the pile and say to another employee " Hey Look at this!!!"
I would not want to go through the embarassment that is being discussed here either. I have bought chips that I have received packed with the staples like you describe with a reused mailer. I do not like them but I can understand why because it does not make any sense to throw them away. I cut them up in a strip to be used as padding for chips that I send out. When I send $100 of my hard earned money for a chip, I would rather send the seller a pre addressed bubble mailer with postage paid than to have the chip sent to me in a reused mailer with staples as insurance for delivery. I love these chips and this hobby and it really breaks my heart if a package I send is in question. When I drop the chips in the mailbox, I am very confident that they are going to make it to the new owner in the same condition as they were when I packed them. That is very important to me.
We are the and to my way of thinking, we are the people that need to be setting the standard for issues like shipping and not the average seller that tosses the chips into the mail without much thought about how it gets to the buyer. Just my opinion.
