Hi Pam.. yes, absolutely. You can search and find words or phrases in your book you downloaded. It also has a built-in dictionary. However, given the nature of this hobby, my preference for casino-related books is to NOT get a kindle for that. Why? Because my Kindle is just a regular black LCD screen. No colors at all. Not sure about the 3rd generation of Kindle, but I'm assuming that it's the same too. Also, most publishers of the casino books are probably not going to go to the e-book format. That's just my guess.

FYI - yes it does do graphics on them.. the artwork is amazing (no, not Amazon) hehe hope that helps.
