I'm grateful for having a Chip Board, and the Powers That Be can do what they want. I wouldn't want to make extra work for them, etc.

But I'm with Bill suggestion-wise. I have made the same suggestion here previously.
¶ This is the only message board I know of that can't be edited, not that I am familiar with that many boards.
¶ Deleting the old post and making a new one is awkward --to say the least-- when someone has already answered your first post -- the new post could get lost in the thread and maybe mess-up some other posts "near you." Knowing I can't edit a post, makes me take an inordinate amount of time to carefully do the first post. At other boards I make a quick first post and then touch it up, with no problems.
¶ As noted elsewhere here, (1) one can always make a screen shot of an offending post, and (2) edited posts will have a date/time on it for the editing.
