Last week I posted about some small key, P-38 hot-stamped chips that I have in red and blue and I was informed by Fred Hemple that he also had them in black and gold. Not having the black and gold, I naturally asked Fred if he an extra of both and we made a deal.

Well, today I received the black and gold versions (thanks Fred!) and surprise, surprise, they are in a diamond mold! Not only that, but diamond mold chips are about 1 mm larger than small key chips.

But hey, there is more. The hot-stamp dies are different between the two molds! The diamond mold hot-stamps are slightly larger than the small key hot-stamps. I tried to show the difference here with this overlay image between the two hot-stamps. You can see that the P-38 outlines are different and do not align over eachother.

Thanks for Looking, but I guess I'm still looking for other colors in the small key version and now, the red and blue diamond mold versions.
