Doug,
That also sounds like stealing to me as well. In the last two days on this ChipBoard, however, it seems some see this in both lights, as both "harvesting" and "stealing". From what I have been able to gather on this ChipBoard, "harvesting" seems to be simply "collecting" chips for one's collection by way of buying/purchasing/trading of the chips. "Stealing" is simply just taking the chips for one's collection by way of walking away with them. Maybe the person who took the chips from the convention tournament, believed he/she bought/purchased them (I'm assuming there was an entry fee?) and thereby, "harvested" the chips. But... since there was an agreement prior to the tournament not to take any chips, then they actually "stole" the chips, if it was someone from the tournament.
The is an organization about collectors of chips and I believe this was simply a matter of time before something like this happened. The South Point casino could review the video footage of the tournament and find out who took the chips... if indeed, they were actually taken by any tournament player, or maybe, they were taken by someone else?
