Steve,
Great Post. Our "hobby" can not exist, if people didn't "keep" chips; whether they "bought" or "borrowed" them. As for your statement: "...all Nevada gaming chips belong to the casinos -- they are the casino's property. In Nevada, this applies to house chips, limited editions, roulette chips, NCV's, tournament chips, etc.", I have three points to make.
First, why even bother using chips at all? Just use cash. If you use cash to purchase chips, like anything else in this world, you own what you buy (legally). Every time I go to the cage and "buy" chips, no one states anything about the chips being "rented", so to speak.
Second, why don't the casinos enforce these "laws" when people take the casino chips out of the casino? Why even make "collectible" chips (limited edition, etc.) if their intentions were for people to "collect" them or "keep" as souvenirs?
Lastly, why don't the casinos go after the 1000's of people who are selling their so-called "property" on eBay and/or other various web sites?
