Chinese: San and / or Xin
English: New, Modern, and Latest
The Chinese have at least 3 different scripts that they use when they write long hand. One style is equal to our long hand, a 2nd is equal to our block lettering, and a 3rd is equal to printed text. Of course, these chips were made before the communist took over, and likely any other government, they changed what was not necessarily broken; but that is another story.
Finally, Chinese "words" are more like ideas as opposed to firm expressions written in stone and the meaning is often derived by how the "word" is used in a sentence.
