Went to the Statue of Liberty in 2004 when I took my parents on a tour of the east coast. It wasn't open to walk inside, but we got a great ranger to give us a tour and (being no others in the tour group with us) he gave us almost a 2-hour tour with lots of historical context and stories. What a great experience!
