I pay by check and with friend or stranger always accompany my payment with "when the check clears, please send the chip to...." Some send the chip immediately; some wait. I have no trouble waiting. I think those who have done business with me before but who wait are doing so because they must be sure their records are straight. Just one buyer's view.
