I have no idea why I didn't think of this sooner. 30 years ago I was an ex-hippie and did scrimshaw for a couple of summers - did the art fair circuit and the whole deal, and then I got a real job (as the money was barely OK). I've been looking at some of the cool stuff from the convention and there were some crest & seal chips that looked "scrimshaw-y" and while I have no idea exactly how they are done (I do know that old, old, old ones might have been hand-made but it's all machines now), I got curious...
This fall, once tourist season is over and I have some free time, I've considered getting back into scrimshaw. My eyesight isn't as good but I still have my tools and some polymer blanks, but...I thought it might be cool to actually scrim some chips. But where would I get blanks?
Ideas? And can someone point me to a good C&S reference website to I can learn more (great...another branch of this hobby is growing, and that means more $$$. Oh well.).
And thanks.
