First, I am not sure there is any one clear correct answer. Given that, it seems to me that the way to maximize the money you get is to sell any chip that is not really common individually on ebay. That, of course, means two things. You know what is not really common, which you probably do not. And that you are willing to spend a very large amount of time selling these. Lots almost always go for significantly less than the sum of the chips in them. Selling really common chips individually on ebay will probably result in a lot of unsold chips and the fees for those that do sell will probably make it fairly unprofitable. So, for the common chips, it is probably best to offer them up in groups either on ebay or here. You probably could use the help of someone who will not be buying your chips who you can trust to give you some idea as to value, but I'm not sure how you can work that out. Probably the best thing for you, balancing time spent and desire to get as much as you can, would be to determine the most valuable chips, which you can then sell individually, and then sell the rest in groups either on ebay, here or to a dealer. You may not maximize the profits on the groups, but you will probably get a decent amount and save enormous amounts of time. The good stuff you can then focus on maximizing the value and not worry about the time being spent.
Pictures of the chips is going to be crucial to any sales. You can scan or take pictures individually or even in the plastic pages. Just make the pictures/scans large enough so a potential buyer or helpful appraiser can see the detail and condition of the chips.
These are just some thoughts. I hope this is helpful to you.
By the way, anything from Aruba, Curacao or Bonaire in there?
