I worked at Avis for close to 10 years. At Kansas City Int'l Airport, MSP Int'l Airport and downtown KC and Independence, MO. I was at the MSP Airport when 9/11 happened. What a nightmare. We were among the first 1-2 companies to allow customers to be able to drive our cars one way with no fees due to the airports all being shutdown. I have rented cars from other companies, and I will always think Avis is the best out there, due to going the extra mile. However, don't get me wrong, there are good and bad things out there with every company. That is something you see in every industry.
One thing you always have to remember that no company has any control over is the taxes that are charged. Alot of times, taxes are more than the price of the car, and I have rented in Vegas and it is true there on alot of rentals.
