The picture on the note looks like King Kalakaua
In Response To: BankNote of the Day- High Dollar HAWAIIN! ()

David Kalakaua was the King in 1879 when the note was to be issued. He was known as the "Merrie Monarch".

Today, June 11th, is King Kamehameha Day, a state holiday. grin grin
