Nice PVC pond there John - were you planning to hide that big black box too? Is it temporary?

We have a small 80-gallon pre-shaped (hard plastic) one in our front yard, with a pvc-lined water fall that runs down about 3-levels before going into the pond. We've got a nice 2500gpm pump on it, with a 1" hose and it works great - nice water flow.
Looks like that pond is out in direct sunlight too - so you may need to think about the algae problem possibly too.
