What you're talking about here is Bill's email program. Outlook. Just like no other word processor but Word and no other spreadsheet but Excel lend themselves so readily as vehicles for viruses. And don't get me started on Internet Explorer. That's not the only reason I use Netscape, but it's a damn good one.
