Due to my work I have to travel to many different States, from CA to FL, and I meet a lot of new people every week. One way to break the ice before meetings, I tell them all what I do like to collect as a hobby, and it's amaizing to know that 99% doesn't know anything about chip collecting, their values, history, nor have even heard about that there is Club that they could joint.
Promoting our hobby and Club should be a very important step to the new BOD to think about, but starts with ourselves.
I started almost two years ago and still love the hobby, and probably like many new of the members without knowing that the Club existed at all. It took me almost a year to find that out.
Last, please, in my case to keep interest in the Club, some times the most experienced Dealers or collectors seem to be only interested in sharing and talking to a high dollar potential customers, or to what looks to be a very selected circle of collectors.
I´ve been lucky to meet some great people in the Club and learn just a little bit more day by day. Thanks.
Have a happy Memorial Day !!!
