The piece of property the old El Rancho was built upon has always been considered a "hard luck" parcel. While it bordered San Francisco Ave. (Sahara) it never was large enough to build a mega resort. Consequently, no one was ever in a hurry to purchase it. At one time the Bennett organization was looking at it with the grandiose idea of tearing down Circus and everything in between to Sahara ave. Of course we all know what happened to Bennett and consequently his idea. I do not look for the property to sell UNTIL the pendulum swings back to small intimate casinos which it someday will.
