That last photo might have been taken during the Wagon Train Days. They have a big annual event were they put together a wagon train at Genoa and go over Highway 50 to Placerville. The trip takes several days and they stop overnight and have big BBQs and dances along the way. Back in the good old days - 1950's - my father-in-law ran the Spotsman's Hall restaurant in Pollock Pines and always cooked at the big BBQ. He told me that George Cannon for George's Gateway would bring some tables over and set them up so folks could gamble during the big party. The rules were a bit looser in those days.
