The company that owns the Tropicana Las Vegas and the Tropicana Aruba are not related. Tropicana Las Vegas is now owned by Alex Yemenidjian a former executive of the MGM casinos while the Aruba, Laughlin and Atlantic City Tropicanas are owned wholly by Carl Icahn. There is currently a trademark lawsuit pending either in Las Vegas or in Delaware with Icahn saying that he and his company own the Tropicana name while Yemenidjian says he owns the rights to the name.
