First off, congrats to all you silver strike collectors who were sitting on a nice big collection and are now selling them for a nice return...And I thought they were too high for me to buy for $10 each...I say cash in on the madness, more power to you, but maybe hang on to some of them in case the dollar falls on its face one day as early as next Month. Curious - what happens to those machines where you could get the strikers from? Did they raise the price to play them or replace the strikes with candy or something?
Second, it makes me wonder, is there any hope of a similar future for casino chips at all, I mean what scenarios could cause casino chips to suddenly be worth $30 each? I'm thinking even if tomorrow all tables games were replaced with computer games with no chips, not a lot of non-collectors would care too much to go looking to buy some 'rare' casino chips all of a sudden right? So I guess I picked the wrong round casino collectible to stock up on. Especially all these plastic home game chips!
