I am willing to bet that most of those "foreign" cars are made here in the states. Unlike the "American" classics like like the Chrysler Town and Country minivan which is made in Canada and Mexico. All of the major Japanese manufacturers have plants over here. Of course you are free to rent whatever car you like.
