Working in the cage for many many years under 7 different managers. In the past I have had some managers that had no clue what was going on in day to day operations - they did not last long. I have had others that were in tune with what was going on. For 5 years I have been in the role of day to day running of two cashiering operations at two properties, plus merging jobs and departments into cashiering operations (i.e. Total Rewards, Mutuels). Knowing if new chips were in would not be my priority, but I would know that we ordered them and if we received them. To know if I had any on hand would be one phone call if I did not know the answer.
Jim - Other than some nice looking NCV's at Horseshoe (which are highly regulated by our internal controls filed with the state - the state does not like them, but they are putting up with the NCV's because of our tight controls (a long story behind this)) there is nothing new in the market... Our Marketing team has been throwing out the idea of chips this year for the Summer Concert Series... We are getting close to crunch time if this is going to happen.
