About 20 years ago we were robbed. I had 3 slot machines stolen and got paid $6k for them which was nice but I would rather have had the machines. My coin collection and wifes jewelry was also stolen. She must have had 15 lower value rings stolen and wanted to replace them but she wanted just a few very nice ones. She had a friend who knew a specialist jeweler and we went to him to replace the all those rings with 5 nice ones. We spend hours and hours with him picking out very nice colored stones for her rings. She also wanted diamonds around them and wanted higher quality stones instead of the crap they usually use for surrounding stones. At the last minute I realized that we were paying $4500 for 5 rings that we could have probably bought at a retail store for $300-$500 each. I wanted to bail on the whole deal but Cindy wanted those rings. she still has them and they are nice just overpriced.
