Obvious GN is the nicest place to stay downtown. You want old school then the El Cortez is as old school as you can get and if you get the Cabana Rooms which are all new last year the room will be just fine. They have some great deals. Of course here you will also find some great blackjack games. SD $5 and still pays 3:2 You can't find that anywhere that I looked. 4 Queens SD is $10 minimum. and DD at El Cortez you can find at $3 with all the decent rules. I wouldn't stay at the Plaza. or Las Vegas Club until they renovate the rooms which are years overdue. Binions closed it's hotel and that tells you something about the rooms there. My buddy stayed there 2 yrs ago. 19" CTV on a 60's metal stand, drapes that were stained and ripped, just a terrible place.
