Some IT problems mean I am just now able to post the chips for the last 2 days, and the first of a couple from my old local casino, the Westcliff. Originally the Westcliff Sporting Club, they eventually changed name to the Westcliff Casino.
Located on the site of an old swimming pool complex, it meant the gaming floor was down in the old pool area and so had steps down, with the bar, restaurant, cashier etc all higher up!
The £1 chip several of you will have seen before, and is probably one of the first UK chips in my collection. This was availabel either with 3 inserts or 6 inserts.
The 50p chip was a later design and unusual for 2 reasons - one, it was different from the various brown 50p chips that were in use before, after and at the same time! Also the only unicorn chip I have used in live play in the UK.
More to come from the Westcliff.....
Enjoy
