Welcome back Michael; Where the hell have you been? We really missed your opinions on lots of issues.
Charlie; I hope that I was not the one you referred to who "chopped your head off" (actually I think the more appropriate term should be "Chipped" your head off) ... and I have no intention of doing so with this post. However, I do have a question that bothers me. Yours is not the first post that I have read regarding, "I do not like others make decisions for me nor do I like making decisions for others."
I'm at a complete loss trying to understand what anyone has said that would give you, or others, the impression that anybody is making decisions for someone else. Seriously; could you please explain to me (and others) how to correct that misconception? Everybody is free to do whatever they like, collect whatever they like, sleep with whomever they like, go to work for whomever they like (including ICG).
The only restriction regarding slabbing of chips is that a proposal has been advanced by Jim Episale and has been supported by other candidates for club office, to restrict the sale of slabbed chips at the club convention, in the club auction, and in advertising in the club magazine. I certainly don't interpret that to mean anyone is making decisions for you or others and was wondering how such a reasonable person such as yourself came to such a conclusion?
As for policy decisions made by club officers who are elected by the club membership .... there will always be rules that are adopted and hopefully enforced that will affect conduct at club functions and club activities. That's why they were elected. But this slabbing issue has absolutely no effect upon ANY club members or non-club members, other than during our 3 day convention activities each year and advertising in the club magazine..
