By all info, Jacksboro Highway in Fort Worth was a real 'Thunder Road' (1). " At mid-century, in the three & 1/2 miles separating Gambler Tiffin Hall's Mexican Inn Cafe from gambler Lester Hutt's Skyline Drive Motel, the Jacksboro Highway sported 19 eating places, 6 liquor stores, 7 night clubs, 10 motels/tourist courts. " They were popular and they were notorious. The Four Deuces (2222 Jacksboro) and the 3939 Club (3939 Jacksboro) were the more plush.
There were others in this vicinity. Here is the problem I am looking to solve. I want to see if these places ordered chips and dice or had chips and dice that were unique to their places. I have been asking and poking and looking for a while with no luck but lots of stories and "knowing someone who knows someone who is in the know". I would like to find out what would be a better logical way for me to find this out.
I have decided to start on the 'hunt' again for working on my TX Illegal collection, so put me down for any list or sales or whatever and contact me because I will more than likely be interested.
