Ralph and Stan for about a month now. I didn't know if I had the right to divulge such information. Ralph, although gravely ill, was still buying chips as of the end of February. What a collector.
There are a precsious few ivory collectors. Ralph was one of our "inner circle" of collectors. If Kenny Craig, Ralph Stranwold, Bud Meyer or Rich Hanover found 4 ivory chips, those chips would not leave the group. The outside world would only get an ivory if a fifth was found. Ralph was a true collector.
Although Stan really didn't collect ivories, he was some wheeler dealer. Stan always had the great assortment of ivories. He attended all the old west shows. I would always find something at Stan's table (or Stan would find chips in my book).
Both men will be missed -- greatly.
