First off, I do not know origin of either chip, sorry.
But the Large Crown chip is interesting in that the hole is not the typical "cancellation" hole, and in fact, looks more like a drilled shoe chip hole! Notice that the hole is drilled in the center of the chip, and it has been counter-sunk, i.e., drilled to allow a screw to be placed in the center and when tightened, the head of the screw will be flush with the surface of the chip.
Of course this could have been done to allow mounting of the chip to a display of some sort, or to another surface, but since a second drilling of the chip is needed (to make the counter-sink) that means that someone was paying attention to detail, and probably not diddling with the chip between hands at a poker game!
