John; A.C. casinos didn't build those parking garages for local beach-goers and their children, or for shopping mall customers who fill up their garages in the summer or during major events at A.C. Boardwalk Hall or the Convention Center without stepping foot in the casino. This past weekend as an example was the annual Atlantique City Antiques show at the Convention Center. Casino garages in that immediate area were filled by 10 a.m. There are several privately-owned parking lots around the city that charge much more than the casinos do. BTW: Trump Plaza now offers free parking and several casinos offer free parking if you possess a players card. As for me, I can't recall the last time I paid for parking in A.C. and we're in town almost every weekend.

I accompanied my daughter to Philly a couple weeks ago to attend a conference in a center city hotel. Parking was $27 for five hours. Those visitors to New York City and other cities around the country know how much it costs to park as well. It ain't cheap!
