I don't understand why people would find it easier to believe that the chips were made for the 49er Club in Lake Tahoe and then brought over to the 49er Club in Sacramento than to believe that the chips were made for the 49er Club in Sacramento, to which they have been positively attributed. As far as we know, there is no evidence that those chips were used in Nevada, and this is probably a case where their inclusion in guide books represents maybe too much faith on the part of the authors (in people who invariably have a quantity of the chips they are attributing to Nevada.)
As for the exclusion of the listing of the casino from The Chip Rack... we can't really include it if there are no chips listed, right? To date there have been no reliable attributions of any chips to the 49er Club in Lake Tahoe. Think of it as a "disinclusion". (Which actually sounds like it could be a real word.)
