Re: PRO-SLAB CHALLENGE
In Response To: PRO-SLAB CHALLENGE ()

Slabbing and Grading constricts our hobby.
Making it harder to trade, sell and purchase gaming chips. Ala - a reason to say "no" to a transaction.
I would guess that most of us got into this hobby through the act of gambling in a Casino or Card Game. I started collecting gaming chips from casinos in Reno, clubs I gambled at. There was no thought in my mind of ever fawning over a group of my chips in hard plastic holders graded by some strangers when I picked these chips up as a memory of a good win or terrible loss.
Some have said a chip Slabbed may make a chip worth as much as $500 more, I say what's wrong with getting $5000 for said chip instead of $5500, if you only paid $1000 for it!
Alot of collectors have reacted to the thought of Slabbing chips emotionally! Most of us are collectors first, not investors! The chip became an investment after we first collected it.
