they are called markers/lammers/buttons/dealer chips. Lots of people on these boards can explain their use better than I can. They are all rather small. Clay here. Engraved or hot-stamped. Used , I think, for bookkeeping purposes on the floor at the tables -- for the eye in the sky and the pit boss to see that IOU's for chips and deliveries of chips to the table from the cage are handled properly. I got the Roman numerals from a big auction at Saratoga NY (stock from Reilly's (?sp), Meadowbrook, etc.) about 15 years ago. The ones with words are to keep track of the kind of bets at the craps table.
