Snow this week in the Sierra and Truckee Meadows so here is a little piece of local history, hope it is of interest.
Here is a political flyer from 1870 or so for a Con Ahern who was a Sgt. at Arms for the Nevada legislature. He apparently decided to run for the Nevada senate but was not successful. One of the interesting things is the bottom of the flyer, it shows it was printed in Virginia? I thought that very strange but later found out it was printed in Virginia City, Nevada. Anyone know why it is Virginia and not Virginia City?
